Kalyani Devi Mandir Prayagraj

History:

Kalyani Devi Mandir, Prayagraj is said to be one of the 51 Shaktipeeths present in India. We can find the mention of this temple in several ancient texts, proving that the mandir is regarded as one of the most ancient Shaktipeeths found. The legend states that three fingers of Goddess Sati fell here when Lord Shiva was carrying her body all over the place. The temple is said to be constructed in 1883 but the idols of the goddess have been dated to be 1500 years old. There are three deities of the Goddess in this temple, taking form from the three fingers that fell here. Kalyani Devi is in the center and is accompanied by Shankar Parvati on the right side and Chinnamasta Devi on the left. Other idols present at this temple include Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshman, and Radha Krishna.
