Durga Saptashati is a Hindu religious text that describes the victory of Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura. It is also known as Devi Mahatmya or Chandi Path. This text is part of the Markandeya Purana, written by the sage Markandeya, and consists of 700 verses arranged in 13 chapters. It is one of the most important texts in Shaktism along with the Devi-Bhagavata Purana, Mahabhagavata and Devi Upanishad. Durga Saptashati is recited regularly during Navratri. Some people believe that those who recite this text daily can get rid of black magic and obstacles in their life. Seven forms of Maa Durga have been described in Durga Saptashati.

Katyayani: Remover of Obstacles
Maa Katyayani, the form of Maa Durga, is considered the goddess who removes obstacles. This divine form of Maa Durga is worshipped on the sixth Navratri. Devotees worship Mother Katyayani to keep her blessings and her blessings remain on them. It is believed that fasting and worshipping Goddess Katyayani removes the obstacles in the marriage of unmarried girls. According to astrologers, if there are repeated obstacles in a girl's marriage, then she should worship Mother Katyayani.

Brahmacharini: Goddess of Renunciation, Penance and Virtue.
Mother Brahmacharini, who is worshipped on the second day of Navratri, is called the goddess of penance. Brahmacharini is made up of two words - Brahma which means penance and Charini which means one who conducts. That is why Mother Brahmacharini is called the goddess who practises penance. Mother Brahmacharini is the unmarried form of Goddess Parvati. Goddess Brahmacharini had performed rigorous penance to get Lord Shiva as her husband. Mother Brahmacharini keeps a kind eye on her devotees. After worshipping Mother Brahmacharini, one should recite Stotra and Kavach.
Mahagauri: One who bestows purity, grace and forgiveness.
Maa Mahagauri is the eighth power of Maa Durga. He is worshipped on the eighth day of Navratri. It is believed that due to the hard penance of Goddess Parvati, she got the incarnation of Mahagauri. Mahagauri's body had turned black due to penance but Lord Shiva asked her to take a bath in the Ganga and her body glowed. Her complexion became fair after bathing in Ganga and she came to be known as Mahagauri.
Mother Mahagauri's form is very gentle. Their complexion is completely fair and their clothes and jewellery are also white. They have four arms. He has Abhaya Mudra in his upper right hand and a trident in his lower hand. There is Damru in the upper left hand and Var Mudra in the lower hand. His vehicle is a bull. Their nature is very calm.
By worshipping Mother Mahagauri, all the works of the devotees become successful. By worshipping this form of Mother Goddess, girls get the blessings of their desired groom. All the nine goddesses are pleased by worshipping this form of Mother Goddess. Mother Mahagauri likes pink very much. Therefore, worshipping him wearing pink coloured clothes is very beneficial.

Kaalratri: The most fierce form of Durga
Kaalratri literally means "kaal" (darkness) and "ratri" (night), which means "night of darkness" or "night of darkness". Kalratri is the seventh form out of the nine forms of Goddess Durga. Mata Kalratri is worshipped on the seventh day of Navratri. In this form the complexion of the mother is black like kajal.
Kalratri is also called Shubhankari, Mahayogishwari and Mahayogini. According to the scriptures, by worshipping Mata Kalratri, devotees do not have the fear of untimely death. According to astrological beliefs, Goddess Kalratri controls the planet Saturn. By worshipping them the ill effects of Saturn are removed.
Maa Kalratri is also worshipped in the morning and at night. It is believed that mothers like the Raat Rani flower very much. On this day, jaggery is offered to the Mother Goddess. On the day of Maha Saptami, jaggery and things made from jaggery like Malpua are offered to Maa Kalratri. By offering these things, the Mother Goddess becomes happy and fulfils all the wishes.
Siddhidatri: Final form of Durga
Maa Siddhidatri is the ninth and last of the nine forms of Maa Durga. She is worshipped on the ninth day of Navratri. She is named Siddhidatri because Siddhi means supernatural power or ability to meditate, and Dhatri means giver or giver of rewards. Mother Siddhidatri is also considered to be the form of Goddess Saraswati. By worshipping her, one gets the results of worshipping all the goddesses.

Chandraghanta: One who has a third eye on her head
Chandraghanta, the third form of Goddess Durga in Hinduism, has three eyes on her head. Mother Chandraghanta has an hourglass shaped crescent moon on her head, due to which she is named Chandraghanta. Chandraghanta means "one who has a bell-shaped half moon". Mother Chandraghanta has a jewel studded crown on her head and a garland of white flowers around her neck. Mother Chandraghanta has ten hands and has ten weapons in her hands, which include shield, sword, sword, trident, bow, chakra, noose, mace, and a quiver full of arrows. Maa Chandraghanta's vehicle is a lion and she is worshipped as Navratri. It is done on the third day of Aatri.
In this form of Maa Durga, she has an hour-shaped crescent moon on her head, due to which she is called Chandraghanta. It is believed that by worshiping Mother Chandraghanta, all sins and upcoming obstacles are removed and happiness and prosperity comes to the family. Goddess Chandraghanta's vehicle is a lion and she has ten arms and three eyes. In this form of Maa Durga, she has lotus flower, bow, chanting rosary and arrow in her four hands. The fifth hand remains in Abhaya Mudra. At the same time, he has a trident, mace, kamandalu and sword in his four hands. Mother Chandraghanta is also called the destroyer of sins. While worshipping Goddess Chandraghanta, the worshipper should wear golden or yellow coloured clothes.

Shailputri: Wife of Lord Shiva
Shailputri is the wife of Lord Shiva. Shailputri is also known as Parvati and Hemavati. Shailputri literally means daughter of the mountain (Shaila). According to mythology, Shailputri's previous birth was by the name of Sati and she was the wife of Lord Shiva. In her next life, she was born as the daughter of King Himavat of the Himalayas and was called Shailputri. Shailputri also got married to Lord Shankar and became the better half of Lord Shiva.
Shailputri is considered the goddess of mountains. It is believed that she bestows special blessings on all the devotees who take refuge in Himalayan Mountain for yoga, meditation, penance and rituals. There is a special tradition of worshipping him in the hilly areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal, Purvanchal, Nepal etc. There is an ancient temple of Shailputri in Varanasi, where it is believed that the wishes of the devotees are fulfilled just by visiting.
