The Haunting of Kuldhara Temple, Rajasthan: The Curse of a Vanished Village

In the middle of the Thar desert, there is a Village called Kuldhara, known as the Curse of Vanished Villages with the Haunted Temple of Kuldhara. All the people fear going into the village cause they think the village is ghostly and they are not wrong. For over 200 years, the villages have been silent, and no trace of any human and this place is full of mysteries and haunted tales. This place is famous for its ghostly activities, strange noises, footsteps, and eerie sensations that are still felt in the temple. The village is popular among tourists, ghost hunters, and people who are fascinated by spooky things. Tourist often describes how the villages have a strange silence. 

What caused the entire village to disappear overnight?

This story is not just a ghost tale but a story of freedom and honor. The abandoned villages were once very prosperous and crowded places. Kuldhara was the home of many Paliwal Brahmins under the state of Jaisalmer. According to the stories, there was a powerful and evil man Salim Singh who wanted to marry the daughter of the village head forcefully. He also threatened all the villagers that if they had to fulfill his wish otherwise they have to face the consequences. The Paliwalis didn’t agree to his lust and held a council of 85 people and they decided to leave the village. But this is not all, they also put a curse on the village that no one will ever be able to settle in their village thereafter. To this day, the village is abandoned and spooky. Anyone who has tried to stelle down in the villages has met with mysterious and supernatural occurrences.

In the center of this village, there is a temple called Kuldhara Temple standing there being a silent witness of this incident. The temple is dedicated to local gods and it is believed to hold the remnants of the curse that haunts the village. Visitors always experience whispers in the wind, fleeting shadows, and a pervasive feeling of being watched.

As the sun sets, the villages become mysterious and haunted. The government has announced it as a heritage site. The village is the symbol of freedom and honor. Some say the spirit of the village is still bound in the Kuldhara village and guarding it against those who wish to defy the curse. Those who visited the village sensed an unexplained sound, flickering lights, and the sensation of being watched by unseen eyes. Today the Khuldara Village is standing there as a reminder of the curse of the villagers.
