Indeed, India is a place of great diversity and cultural richness. And this is reflected in the several festivities that are observed here. Anant Chaturthi, which marks the end of the 10-day Ganesh celebration, is a well-known celebration in India. Anant Chaturdashi will take place on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. The Ganesh Visarjan Vidhi, or farewell to the great Lord, is performed with the same grandeur and enthusiasm as the Ganesha Pooja. But, there is one thing in common: practically everyone's heart is a little heavy on this day because we are sentimental and melancholy at the Lord GaneshaтАЩs departure from us.

There are no precise regulations, and the Ganesh Visarjan ritual is mainly based on family traditions. Symbolically, Lord Ganesha returns home on the auspicious day of Ganesh Chaturthi, and it is up to us to determine when to bid him farewell. However, it is better to submerge the idol before sunset.
Mantra to chant during Ganesh Visarjan
This prayer can also be said at Ganesh Visarjan.
Ganesh Visarjan mantra:
"Mushika Vahana Modaka Hastha Chaamara karna Vilambitha Sutra Vaamana roopa Maheshwara putra Namaste, Vighna Vinaayaka.тАЭ
Translation: "Oh, Lord!" the son of Lord Shiva and the destroyer of all barriers, with a mouse as Thy chariot, with delectable pudding in hand, with large ears and a long hanging trunk, I prostrated before Thy lotus-like feet!" It is advised that a Ganesh Puja be performed by specialists using genuine rites. It will help you overcome hurdles and achieve success in life.
Story behind Anant Chaturdashi
There is also a narrative about the god Anant. Sushila, a girl whose father was Brahmin, marries Karkash after her mother died. Sushila did not get along well with Karkash, therefore she moved away from her house when she married. Her husband was named Kaundinya. On their way home, they discovered a river and had a dip. Sushila noticed some women praying and joined them, asking them about their prayers. Women spoke about Lord Anant and the value of its pledge. Sushila was going to start a new life with her husband, therefore she decided it was necessary to pray and take the blessings of Lord Ananat for a bright future life.
She completed all of the procedures, took the pledge, and tied a ceremonial thread around her left hand. One day, Kaundinya challenges Ananta's blessings, believing that everything he has achieved is the result of his hard work and brains. Sushila and Kaundinya disagreed on this point, so they took the anant thread and flung it in the fire. Following that, they suffered numerous disasters, ultimately driving them into destitution. As a result, Kaundinya recognized that the Ananta strings and ceremonies were the source of happiness and wealth. Kundaniya undergoes extreme penance and seeks pardon from Ananta, who reveals himself to be the God Vishnu.
Anant Puja and Ganesh Visarjan Vidhi
Perform Aarti before the Ganesha Visarjan. Be present with all family members.
The customary Ganesh Mantras, Aarti, and prayers should be said.
Begin the Ganpati Visarjan vidhi with Morning Aarti.
During Aartis, say "Jai Ganesh Deva" and distribute holy Prasad to all family members.
Offer five items to Lord Ganpati: oil lamps, flowers, incense, fragrance, and well-prepared food.
When it comes time for Ganpati Visarjan, the family should reunite to conduct Aarti before leaving the house. Five minutes before leaving the house, move the idol slowly and gradually forward, about one inch. In brief, you have to modify the location of the idol slightly, which signifies the end of the Lord's stay at your location.
It is critical to accompany him to Visarjan with all family members. Be thankful to Lord Ganesha for visiting your home and conveying your heart's message to the Lord. Thank him for bringing riches and good fortune to your home.
Thank you for removing any troubles with him. Gratitude is what matters most to the Lord. Sprinkle uncooked rice mixed with turmeric (akshat) on the Lord.
Spoon Feed curd to Ganesha in commemoration. Take a crimson towel and fill a dried coconut with jaggery and five different grains (including rice). Tie a knot around Ganesha's hand. This is the meal prepared for his travel.
Take some water and sprinkle it on the person doing the Ganesh Visarjan.
Pick up the Ganesh idol and take Him throughout the home, focusing on the master bedrooms and the kitchen, so that His Holy Gaze and Blessings fall over the entire house. Say "Ganapati Bappa Moriya" and other Ganesha slokas.
Exit your residence and proceed to the immersion point. Take a coconut and circle it around the head of the idol three times before breaking it on the ground and setting it aside.
Do not accept this as prasad, but rather immerse it in the idol. Once completed, family members can continue to the Ganesh Visarjan location, where the Aartis should be repeated before releasing him.
The person conducting the Ganesh Visarjan should remove all garlands and ornaments from the Ganesha statue. Don't toss the dismantled garlands and decorations into the river. You can dispose of or donate them in the right location.
Now submerge Lord Ganesha's idol. Lord Ganesha's blessings will remain with you and your family, and he will remove any sufferings and troubles while showering you with peace, prosperity, and health.
What should you immerse in and take away from the Ganesh Visarjan experience?
Immerse in the following things:
