This temple is one of the oldest in Mathura, originally built by Pradhuman, the grandson of Lord Shri Krishna. It was renovated about two hundred years ago by Raja Patani Mall Bahadur of Banaras, who also constructed the Shiv Tall. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shri Krishna and is known as the Dirgha Vishnu Temple. The main deity is made of black stone and is depicted holding a lotus (Kamal), mace (Gada), conch shell(Shankh), and Chakra. A small idol of Goddess Lakshmi is also present in the temple. As a Vaishnavite temple, it holds significant religious importance. Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is known to have visited this temple during his journey to Mathura. In addition to the regular pooja and aarti, major festivals like Janmashtami, Holi, and Deepavali are celebrated with great enthusiasm and grandeur.
