Salasar Balaji is a holy location for the devotees of Lord Hanuman . It is situated in Rajasthan's Churu district. Throughout the year, many Indian devotees travel to Salasar Dham for darshan. Every year, large fairs are held on Chaitra Purnima and Ashwin Purnima. During this time, millions of devotees crowds here to see their beloved God.

About Lord Hanuman

In Indian culture, it is usual to worship numerous gods and goddesses in order to achieve the goals of human existence, such as material fulfilment and spiritual ecstasy, the most famous of which is Panchdev. Shri Hanuman ji is an emanating collection of five deities. Among the seven crore mantras given in ancient scriptures, love of Shri Hanuman ji is specifically prominent. Hanuman ji, also known as a Shri Ram devotee, Rudra incarnation, Surya student, Vayu, son of Kesari, Nand, Mahabala, and Shri Balaji, originated from Mother Anjani's womb and represents the grandeur of five gods. Hanuman ji is the most well-known and extensively adored god in India. Everyone is free to worship Hanuman without discrimination.

How did Lord Hanuman get the name Balaji?

He was given the name Balaji since he is so strong. Every region in the country has a unique way of worshipping Lord Hanuman. Many prominent Hanuman ji temples, known as 'Babaash' or Balaji, can be found in Veer Bhumi Rajasthan, with the amazing Shri Balaji Temple of Salasar standing out. Salasar is located in the Sujangarh Tehsil in the Churu district of Rajasthan. Salasar's most sacred spot is located amidst the desert thorns, approximately 25 kilometres from Sujangarh. Shri Balaji is found in every particle of Salasar. Shri Balaji Temple Salasara is a massive temple built in Rajasthani architecture.

Story Behind the Balaji Temple

The idol of Siddhapeetha Balaji, which is located in Salasar, was discovered in a field near Asota village. Mohandas ji, a famous devotee of Balaji, first saw this idol while ploughing. Shri Balaji Maharaj's Shri Deity was then erected at Salasar's most sacred place, thanks to the divine inspiration of devotee Shri Mohandas, about 253 years ago, on Saturday, Shravan Shukla Navami, in Vikrami Samvat 1811 (Igh year 1754). Mohandas ji and his sister Kanhi Bai served Balaji with extreme devotion and had a personal darshan with him. It is believed that Shri Balaji and Mohandas ji used to chat.

Idol of Lord Hanuman at Salasar 

The great figure of Shri Balaji rests on a gold-plated throne in the temple. Shri Ram's court is in the top portion, while Hanuman ji, dressed in a beard and moustache, sits at Shri Ram's feet in the lower part, in the shape of Shri Balaji. The main idol is made of Shaligram stone and is adorned in copper and gold. This idol of Balaji is beautiful, appealing, and remarkable amongst the devotees. There are gold ornaments all around the statue, and a big crown adorned with gold and diamonds has been added. The statue is additionally embellished with a gold canopy weighing around 5 kilos.

Anjani Mata temple, Salasar 

Shri Anjani Mata temple is located around one kilometre before Shri Balaji temple. This temple dedicated to Anjani Mata is magnificent, and the statue was created in paradise. The temple is stunningly beautiful, and the mood is sattvik.
Sattvic is an adjective that describes something or someone that possesses sattva, a Sanskrit word meaning "light," "goodness," and/or "purity." Sattva is considered to nourish the body, mind, and spirit.
All devotees visiting Salasar first worship at the Shri Anjani Mata Temple and offer Prasad. Following that, the devotees travel to Shri Balaji Temple. Some particular devotees walk to the temple on their stomachs. Devotees who travel by foot wear red flags in their hands.

Bhog and rituals at Salasar Balaji

The descendants of devotee Shri Mohandas ji make daily traditional offerings to Shri Balaji and adore him. Balaji is offered prayaru, churma, laddus, pedas, sugar sweets, dried fruits, and so forth. Shri Balaji's offerings also include traditional rot and khichra. Shri Balaji Maharaj's stories, recitations, chanting, and kirtan are continually performed here. Here, castes, flags, coconuts, umbrellas, and other items are offered by the benevolence of Shri Balaji Maharaj when the wishes of his followers are fulfilled. Some dedicated devotees make generous offerings, such as Bhandara. Savamani is most common here.

Popularity of Temple amongst Devotees 

Devotees from all across the country and overseas visit Salasar to see Shri Balaji. The number of devotees here is higher on Tuesdays and Saturdays. A large fair is held here on the full moon days of the Chaitra month in April and the Ashwin month in October, and it lasts several days. There are lakhs of worshipers on this day. Lakhs of devotees arrive on foot. In addition to Rajasthan, devotees come from all across India, including Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi.
