Hanuman Garhi also known as Siddha Peeth Shri Hanuman Garhi is a Historical Temple devoted to Lord Hanuman situated at a distance of 1km from Ayodhya. It is one of the most famous temples in Ayodhya which was made in the 10th century. The Deity of Lord Hanuman is a unique Deity across India. Lord Hanuman protects Ayodhya from the day he was given residence at Hanuman Garhi.

Temple History:
According to Legend, after defeating Ravana when Lord Rama and Mata Sita along with Lord Hanuman returned to Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Rama, Lord Hanuman started living in a cave in Ayodhya to protect Ramkot. It is said that Hanuman Garhi is a temple related to Muslims. According to the Skanda Purana, King Vikramaditya built Hanuman Garhi along with 360 other temples. But Aurangzeb destroyed The Hanuman Garhi and built a Mosque. Later, The Bairag occupied the land by defeating Nawab Shujauddula the King of Awadh. They removed the Mosque and built a new temple for Lord Hanuman. Some Muslims thought that Hanuman Garhi was built on a mosque. Therefore they tried to break the temple many times but failed.
Significance:
Ayodhya is the City of Lord Rama and therefore his supreme devotee Lord Hanuman resides there in Hanuman Garhi. Situated on the banks of river Saryu the Temple If the pujari has a special request or needs any permission then he writes a letter and offers it to Lord Hanuman. Thousands of devotees visit the temple to seek blessings from Lord Hanuman. It is said that people worship Lord Hanuman before visiting Ram Mandir and take permission from Lord Hanuman before washing their sins in The Saryu River. Hanuman Grahi is the tallest temple in Ayodhya visible from all sides.

Architecture:
The temple is built in the shape of a four-sided fort, where each corner has a circular rampart housing the temple of Lord Hanuman. A devotee needs to climb 76 stairs to reach Lord Hanuman. The major garbha girha has three doors, embellished with silver carvings. At the main temple, you will see a 6-inch Deity of Lord Hanuman in a young (Bal) Avatar sitting on the lap of Mata Anjani. A silver tulsi garland written with the name of Lord Rama beautifies the Deity. The Hanuman Chalisa is adorned on the walls of the mandir. According to Shri Gauri Shankar Das Ji, there is a victory pillar also known as Vijay Stambh which was bought by Lord Hanuman from Lanka and set up here in honouring the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana.
Festivals:
Rama Navami, Diwali, and till now The birthday of Lord Hanuman on Choti Diwali is celebrated at midnight. These are the main festivals celebrated in the temple. All the people of Ayodhya celebrate these festivals with joy and enthusiasm in Hanuman Mandir.
Hanuman Garhi Darshan Timings:
The darshan timing in the temple varies from season to season. In the summer season, the darshan timings are from 07:30 am to 11:30 am and 04:30 pm to 09:30 pm. Whereas in winter the darshan timings are 09:00 am to 11:00 am and 04:00 pm to 09:00 pm.
