Performing Masik Puja is a way for individuals to maintain a dedicated worship throughout the year. The Manokamna Gathbandhan Puja is dedicated to fulfilling the wishes and desires (manokamna) of devotees. In this puja, a holy thread is tied from the shikhar Lord Shiva’s garbhagriha to the shikhar of Devi Parvati’s (Lord Shiva’s wife) garbhagriha. Tying of this thread is considered to fulfil a devotee's every desire.
