Kalighat Temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas of India where the little finger of Devi Sati's Right foot had fallen during Lord Shiva's destructive dance (Tandav), as described in Hindu scriptures. Shri Kamakhya Devi Temple – A Sacred Siddha Peeth of Tantric Worship

Shri Kamakhya Devi Temple, located on Nilachal Hill in Guwahati, is counted among the 52 Shakti Peeths as per the Puranas and is considered a twin to the Kashi Kamakhya Devi Temple. After the three days, the garbha griha is reopened for the Mahabhishek and annual darshan of the Shri Mahamudra Yantra.

A central ritual of the festival is the performance of 108 parikramas (circumambulations). The poojit laal vastra (consecrated red cloth) and the holy water from the abhishek (ritual bath) are highly regarded in religious and Tantric practices for their significance in alleviating suffering and enhancing spiritual protection.
